Benefits of Infrared Light Therapy

Infrared saunas are effective tools for natural healing and prevention. Infrared light has the ability to penetrate human tissue which in turn produces a host of anti-aging health benefits.

Our infrared spa’s spectrum consists of near (NIR), mid (MIR), and far (FIR) infrared waves, each with distinct characteristics and frequency ranges.

 

Near Infrared Light Therapy

Near infrared (NIR) light therapy is a form of photobiomodulation that uses invisible, near-infrared wavelengths between 700 and 1200nm³ (nanometers) to deliver energy to cells. Scientific research shows that when delivered at the vital wavelength of 880nm, without extreme heat or light, NIR promotes skin renewal, cell health, wound healing, and tissue growth.

 

Mid Infrared Light Therapy

Compared to near infrared wavelengths (which effectively penetrate and heal the skin) and far infrared wavelengths (which reach deep into the body, where toxins are stored), mid infrared wavelengths penetrate the body’s soft tissue where inflammation occurs. MIR helps expand blood vessels and increases circulation so more oxygen can reach injured areas of the body. This reduces pain and speeds the healing process.

When used in combination with far infrared waves, MIR effectively stimulates the cardiovascular system and raises body temperature. As the body works to cool itself, heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate increase as they do during exercise. This in turn supports weight loss. Our sauna system has preset programs that will set the optimal blend of MIR and FIR for these results.

 

Far Infrared Light Therapy

Far Infrared rays have the ability to penetrate, refract, radiate and reflect. The human body can absorb FIR because of its deep penetrating ability. When FIR penetrates through the skin to the subcutaneous tissues, it transforms from light energy into heat energy. The thermal effect within the deep layers of the tissues causes blood vessels and capillaries to dilate, promoting better blood circulation, and the heat helps get rid of body toxins and metabolic wastes through sweating.

The Far Infrared Sauna not only purifies fat cells, but it burns calories (up to 500 calories in one full session has been calculated). FIR radiation penetrates under skin, muscle and bone, resulting in heat moxibustion, which speeds up blood circulation, cell activating and metabolizing of cells. When the activity frequency between molecules and atoms from cells becomes synchronized with FIR frequency, the energy will be rapidly absorbed by organism cells, resulting in resonance and fiercer molecule oscillation. Thus, catabolism is enhanced and unwanted fat is decomposed accordingly.

 

Infrared energy is not only safe, but also highly beneficial for our bodies. Heating the body helps destroy bacteria, viruses and tumors. Saunas work largely by promoting detoxification through the sweat. Sweating promotes elimination of toxic chemicals, heavy metals [Aluminum, Antimony, Arsenic, Barium, Bismuth, Cadmium, Lead, Mercury, Nickel, Thallium, Tin, Uranium], radiation and other toxins. The skin’s ability to eliminate poisons increases. One study found that the sweat formed in conventional saunas is 95 to 97 percent water. In infra-red saunas, only 80 to 85 percent of the sweat is composed of water; the remaining 15 to 20 percent consists of cholesterol, fat-soluble toxins, toxic heavy metals, sulfuric acid, sodium, ammonia and uric acid. Infrared Saunas stimulate cells to release toxins, which can then be eliminated by the liver and bowel.
