Buddhist Economics & Mindful System Change

with Susmita Barua (Acharya Navasajiva)

May 19 - 20, 2019

Buddhist Economics & Mindful System Change

Why did the Buddha put Right Livelihood in his Noble Eightfold Path to freedom by ending kamma of suffering? This task falls mostly on the vast majority of lay men and women practitioners. We will explore economic suffering as we have witnessed in our own experience and a roadmap for Buddhist Economics based on dharma, personal vision and intention to shift planetary karma through empathic dialogue circles.

Also discussed will be Susmita exploring Yoniso-manasikara – a factor of Stream Entry.  The English translation ‘wise attention’ covers up lot of nuanced meaning of the Pali compounded word yoniso-manasikara with feminine-masculine aspects.  We will have a dialogue and a few contemplative exercises on yoniso manasikara that develop our curiosity, learn new ways of seeing things, apply skillful methods to our own mindful path, spiritual journey and engaged dharma practice. Such exploration is meant to transform the journey from mundane human suffering to the universal Noble search for liberation.
