Wild Heart Labor Day Weekend Loving Kindness Retreat

with Andrew Chapman, LMSW and Rev. Mikey Noechel, MS

September 3 - 6, 2021

In retreat, through sustained meditation practice, we come to a deeper understanding and responsiveness with our internal world as we witness the ever-changing flow of the mind-body process. Meditation is the vehicle through which we develop the clarity and compassion needed to accept more fully the pleasure and pain, fear and joy, sadness and happiness that life inevitably brings. In this retreat, we will focus on a specific meditation practice, Metta.

Metta is the Pali Sanskrit term for friendship, goodwill or lovingkindness. Developing this quality of goodwill in our hearts and minds helps us to uncover our natural capacity for an open and loving heart towards ourselves and all other beings. Metta is an antidote to fear and reactivity, and ultimately, Metta practice leads to greater acceptance of ourselves and others, revealing our fundamental connectedness to all of life.

This retreat will be held in noble silence, with designated times for group interviews to support your practice. There will be daily periods of meditation instructions, Dharma talks, mindful movement, as well as silent sitting and walking meditation.

This course is suitable for both beginning and experienced meditators.
