Your offerings of service and dana (financial support) make it possible to offer this space for all to come and practice. Here are some ways you can help:

Volunteer

Help is needed to prepare the grounds and rooms for our upcoming retreats. Please send an email to [email protected] with your name, phone number and availability.

Become A Heartwood Garden Steward

Are you looking for a way to get outside and tend a garden? We can help! Can we count on you to help a garden bloom all summer long? Contact Sister Clear Suchness.

Heartwood is happy to share that we have started a small, diversified, organic vegetable garden! Our Hope is to grow and sustain Heartwood providing fresh vegetables for its residents. You can support us by helping us to keep our garden looking colorful, strong and healthy! A loyal crew of volunteers could work alongside residents or come as you are able to care for and love Heartwood’s garden. After spring planting, volunteers will help harvest, water, weed and clean up the areas.

Volunteer for Land Stewardship

Do you enjoy the blooming flowers, the birds singing and the bees buzzing?
The beauty of Heartwood’s land would not be possible without the help of our dedicated volunteers. We are now in need happy volunteers to tend and care for it.
Workdays are typically held rain or shine on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Unless otherwise indicated, we meet at the property at 9 am and work until around 11am with a short break. Of course, volunteers are welcome to come and go as needed. Volunteers should bring water and a lunch, and be prepared to work in rugged, muddy, and/or thorny conditions. Long pants, sturdy shoes, work gloves, and sunblock are necessary. We’ll have extra gloves and all the tools needed for the project. Hope to see you in the garden!
